Offering exclusive products or gifts to customers who use a referral code or link, with options to auto-add the gift to the cart or make it visible only to eligible users. Also seeking a different gift for the referring customer on their next order, with both items hidden from general purchase.
Shopify does not natively support automatically adding a product to the cart upon store entry, nor a built-in referral feature to gate product access. Feedback for a referral capability will be forwarded to developers, and third-party apps are recommended:

I’m working on a referral program where I’d like to offer special products only for our customers who use a referral code/link. Is there a way to have a product show up in the cart automatically, or a way to set it up so only customers who enter the code have the option to add the referral gift to their cart?
For the referring person, we’d like to offer them a different gift on their next order in the same way. Again, we don’t want people to be able to buy these products in a general capacity, we just want the referring and referred person to be able to see these and add them to their carts (or have them added automatically)
By default, the platform does not have a feature that would allow a product to automatically be added to a customers cart upon entering the online store. With that being said, I can definitely see the benefit for Shopify to allow you to have a referral program built into the store. I am going to provide this feedback to our developers as feedback and a suggestion.
