Hi, I’m looking to offer our customers discounts (not with a discount code), but a discounted price they see when they’re logged in. Is there a way to make this happen so they see a different price on the product page when they are logged in? I’m comfortable editing the code, but don’t want to use a monthly subscription app as we’re only a new business.

This is an interesting question! It sounds like you want to offer customers with accounts better prices, which is a great idea!
There is no way of doing this natively within Shopify unless you are on the Shopify Plus plan or using Handshake. The only solution I can think of at present is to use an app like the Locksmith App which allows you to grant access to certain collections/products to only specific customers.
I know you mentioned that you do not want to pay monthly for an app, but this app is only $9 a month and is really the best workaround that I can think of at this time. You could create collections with reduced prices that are only available to customers with accounts!
