How can I personalize emails with the subscriber's first name?

Hello,

For my brand’s emails, I would like to customize them so the email subscriber has their first name in part of the email. I am able to do this for order confirmations using {{billing_address.first_name}}, but as regular emails for individuals who have not made a purchase/had to enter billing info yet, what can I use to customize emails so their first/last name show up?
