How can I prevent a product from being purchased individually?

Hi guys

I have a part that I don’t want to sell on its own.

It needs to be purchased along with another part to complete the end purchase.

I have limitations, so making it a variant doesn’t work for me.

I want to be able to list the product on its own but stop people from checking out with it on its own.

Any apps that will do this?

Not sure for the app but with custom code yes it’s possible.

I’m sorry that you asked this question over two years ago and never got a helpful response.

I built an app that solves exactly this problem. It’s called CartGate. It lets you force that part to be purchased alongside another part. It’s not clear from your message if you mean “part A needs to be purchased alongside ANY OTHER PART” or if you mean “part A needs to be purchased alongside part B specifically.” To me, it reads as the former (any other part), but you can do both.

Then on the checkout page, the single-part purchase is blocked completely with a message you control:

The block holds even on surfaces that are traditionally problematic, like express checkout (Apple Pay, PayPal, etc.) and buy-it-now buttons.

CartGate is paid ($9/month, free trial), but the prevent-something-from-being-bought-alone restriction type is completely free.

Bro, you can try the app Bundler Bear or Bundler.

Both of which let you force products to be bought together and can block solo check.
