How can I prevent automatic SKU change for identical product variants?

I’m experiencing that my products with variants that have identical SKU’s automaticly adds a number if is bought. For example

I have a product with two variants with the same SKU: 20205.

If then second variant is bought the order item has SKU 20206 - is there somehow I can avoid this?

I use the SKU for our C5 import, so it is very important it is the same.
