How can I prevent changes to one product description affecting others?

Can anyone help me with this problem? I have added a new product to my store, when I edit my website I change this thing material shipping and returns and all that stuff. My problem is it changes all my product descriptions, so how to basically (for. ex: bucket hat is my product I added description I saved it). Then I visit my other product forex. telephone case and that description has changed to the bucket hat one how to separate so that I won’t changed other can anyone help me

Hi @Discounter_shop ,

What I understand here is your content for material, shipping, and returns, and all that stuff will varies from product to product. Each product will have its own different content.

Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi @Discounter_shop ,

In order to add different Materials and Shipping & Returns for each product, you first need to create metafield and then connect it with your theme setting to display metafield on your product pages:

  • Create Metafield by going to Setting > Metafields > Products > Add definition > fill out the required info.
  • Go to Products > Within each product page, scroll down to the bottom and you’ll see the metafield you’ve created before, then fill out the specific content for each.
  • Navigate to Online Store > Theme > Customize
  • Select Products then Default Product from the page selector at the top
  • Within the sidebar menu, click on the Materials section > Row content > click on the Insert Dynamic Source as the photo attached below > Select the associated metafiled

  • Finally, hit Save
  • Do the same with Shipping and Returns

Right about that is there any tutorial on yt or maybe guide step how to do that

can you describe it so that I can search up and figure it out myself

Hey @Discounter_shop ,

First you will need to create Metafields, that will let you fill with the information you want for each product individually.

In your admin page go to Settings, then Metafields, Products, Add definition.

Give it a name, like “Material”, then hit Select content type, and choose Text (I think that’s what you are looking for), and select Multi-line text.

Hit Save.

Now, in your, admin page select Products, enter in any product, scroll down to the bottom, and you will see the Metafield you’ve created, now you can enter the information you want.

Now to have it displayed in the product page of your store, you will need to follow the next instructions:

Go to you admin page and in your active theme hit Customize, select Products, Default Product, in your Product Information hit Add block, select Collapsible tab, and in Tab content at your right, hit Insert dynamic source, select “Material”, hit insert and save.
