How can I prevent double shipping charges on combined orders?

On my website, I sell both jewellery and candles, and there are different shipping profiles for both.

For jewellery, customers can choose from different shipping options (ranging from $2-5):

But for candles, they can only opt for the courier option ($5):

However, should a customer want to purchase both jewellery and candles, the courier fee is somehow doubled (ie. $10) - see attached photo below.

Is there any way I can resolve this issue? I have also attached how my shipping profile looks like.

Thanks so much in advance :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi @iquyt .

The combined shipping rate seen on your store is an expected behaviour of a Shipping profile, as explained in our help guide here. A couple of examples for where this behaviour can occur include:

  1. If the cart contains items from two different locations, then a combined shipping rate from the two locations are added together
  2. If the cart contains items from two different Shipping profiles, then one rate from each profile will be added together to create the combined rate

If you’d like to change the behaviour of this combined shipping rate, you’ll need to install a third-party app to help with this. An app such as Advanced Shipping Rules or Parcelify should help with calculating a more accurate shipping rate for your store. Advanced Shipping Rules has a Lite option for $9 USD per month that you can look into, to see if that will suit your specific business needs. Otherwise Parcelify has a plan for $19.99 USD per month that you can also take a closer look at. If you have any further questions concerning the apps I mentioned however, do get in touch with their support team as they’re best equipped to answer app-specific queries.

If neither of the apps I mentioned suit your needs, feel free to take a look at more shipping apps here on our Shopify App store.
