Today, I received an email indicating that our store is going to be terminated because the images of one of our products do not comply with Shopify’s guidelines.
I would like to specify that the issue only pertains to the images of a single product out of 91.
To demonstrate our good faith to Shopify, we have made the following decisions:
- Dismiss the team member who did not properly respect the intellectual property of the images.
- Remove the implicated product.
- Respond directly to the email sent by Shopify.
We urge Shopify not to suspend our store and account, as we have had this domain for over three years, well-positioned on Google, representing three years of hard work. Today, Shopify, in an arbitrary manner, informs us that our account will be deleted.
This involves thousands of hours of work and people facing unemployment, despite taking all necessary measures to prevent this issue from recurring!
Our store has generated over $350,000 in revenue and contributed tens of thousands of dollars to Shopify.
I am truly frustrated and disappointed in how Shopify handles its customers. I understand why many are abandoning the Shopify platform for alternatives like Wix, WordPress, WooCommerce, PrestaShop, or Magento.
I reiterate my request in this post and ask Shopify not to delete our account as we have taken all necessary measures to comply. However, we have received no response to date.
If Shopify deletes our shop, we will not hesitate to initiate legal proceedings to recover our entire content. Currently, Shopify has blocked our account, preventing us from retrieving our shop’s design, products, product listings, and images.
Please help us recover and reactivate our shop so that we can continue working together.
