How can I prevent split-orders in multi-location fulfilment?

Hello!
I have a major issue with my Shopify store- we offer multi-location fulfilment. One in the USA and one in Canada. Obviously, the inventory balance is different for each fulfilment center. We are trying to geofence the site and prevent customers from tapping into inventory that is OOS in their country which forces us to fulfil the order from a cross-border country and impacts shipping costs, delivery time and import cost which in all in all creates a negative customer experience.

We are currently using this app but it’s a bit faulty and isn’t capturing all those orders/ customers:

Does anyone have experience with this, have recommendations, went through a similar thing and know how to resolve this?

Hello KimB95,

I understand the challenges you’re facing with multi-location fulfillment. To address this issue, you can use Shopify’s Markets to show inventory to customers based on their gelocation. This way, customers will only see products available in their respective Market, preventing them from purchasing items that are not available in their region.

If this approach does not fully resolve your problem, I recommend considering my app MultiLocation Stock Info . This app allows you to filter the products displayed based on the customer’s location, ensuring that only items that can be fulfilled from their nearest location are available for purchase.
