How can I prevent the new indexing bug from creating useless pages on Google?

@Mont I’m surprised shopify hasn’t told us to turn our site off and then turn it back on again, the level of troubleshooting they’ve provided here is dismal. I’m expecting to see a document that says “wait some more it’ll fix itself, oh and 404s aren’t bad for seo”. Probably a good time to short some stock.
