How can I properly display unisex product images on gender-specific pages?

Topic summary

Issue: A store owner has unisex products with images of both male and female models and wants the main image to match the gender-specific collection page (e.g., female model image on Women’s page, male model image on Men’s page) to avoid a messy presentation.

Update: A responder states this isn’t a built-in setting but a custom requirement. They suggest implementing custom development to map products/images to different user types (gender contexts) so the appropriate image displays per page. An example store link is provided to demonstrate the approach and they offer assistance.

Status: No step-by-step solution, code, or settings were shared. The thread remains open without a confirmed resolution.

Open questions: Specific implementation details (theme customization, metafields, scripts, or conditional logic) and whether a no-code configuration is possible were not addressed. The example link is central to understanding the proposed direction.

Hiya, Can anyone help me with this please?

I have Men’s and Women’s products that are unisex. I have images of both men and women models wearing these unisex products. But i don’t want the male models to be the main image on the women’s page and visa versa because it looks really messy. Is there anyway i can solve this? I’m not sure if it would be a coding issue or something else?

Hi @4Seen ,

This is not the issue it’s your custom requirement where you want to map a product to different types of users and want to show different images.

But you can fix this using the custom dev in your store like we did for our vendor.
