Awhile ago when I first signed up with Shopify I remember seeing a option to put your store on hold & they charged less money on your monthly bill. My store isn’t live yet so this is a good option for me.
I cannot for the life of me find where I can do that, I even tried the search in help & couldn’t find what I was looking for… any help is greatly appreciated!, thanks for your time.
This is Ren from the Shopify Support team, happy to help you out here.
When it comes to putting your store on hold you have 2 options:
The Pause and Build plan will let you pause and continue building with a reduced subscription fee.
The standard Pause plan will let you pause for 3 months without any further payments however, you can’t access your admin or continue to work on your store.
In order to select either of these options, head over to Settings and Plans and Permissions. I have listed the steps below for the Pause and Build plan.
From your Shopify admin, click Settings, and then click Plan and permissions.
In the Store status section, click Pause and build.
If you agree with the terms, then click Pause and build.
Review the changes to your billing cycle, and then click Confirm changes.
You can access the complete set of steps for either plan including how to re-open your store here.
Hope that helps! How are you finding using Shopify so far? Is there any else you are feeling stuck or looking for clarification with? Happy to continue to help!
Hi! I just googled this exact question but no longer see the Store Status section or the Pause and Build option. Can you please let me know how to do a Pause and Build for my store?
Thanks so much!
