How can I quickly transfer assets to an updated Warehouse theme?

Topic summary

Topic: After upgrading to the latest Warehouse theme, the poster needs a fast way to migrate store assets (icons, logo, slider images/buttons, header/footer texts) to the new theme.

Key guidance: A responder advises copying the “schema_settings” content from the old theme to the corresponding file in the new theme. This typically carries over configured settings, but not all elements may transfer if the theme developers haven’t accounted for them.

Technical note: “schema_settings” refers to the theme’s configuration data that stores settings for sections and templates, which can migrate design/content settings without manually re-entering them.

Caution and actions: Proceed carefully and back up the new theme’s file before making changes. The responder offers further assistance if needed.

Status: No definitive step-by-step solution provided; the discussion remains open. Unanswered points include how to handle assets not covered by schema (e.g., media files or custom content that may require manual re-upload or reassignment).

Hello

I have just upgraded my current Warehouse theme to the most recent one. I needed most of the newest features that were already in there. However I need to update everything asap and time is the key here. My question is how to move all the assets, like icons, logo, slider photos with buttons, footer/header text with information about the store, to the new, recently updated theme and save some time. Thanks!

Hi @jonas1217

Normally the theme would instruct you to carry over the “schema_settings” content over from one file to another, but not everything will carry over if the theme developers don’t mention it, then I would proceed with caution and back the new theme’s file just for safety.

Let us know if you need additional assistance on that!
