How can I reactivate my inactive online store?

Hi my account has been inactive for some time, I’m looking to reopen this I’m wondering if this is possible and what the outstanding balance is to reopen?

Welcome to the Community and welcome back to Shopify, hopefully! We’re definitely glad to hear you are considering reopening your account with us.

Definitely a great place to gather some input regarding anything about the platform as we have a great group of contributors who are always willing to share their expertise and experience with you.

With regards to opening your account, please refer to the following:

  • How long has your account been inactive? If it has been over 2 years then your data has most likely been cleared. We recommend starting a new account. If it has been less than that, you can simply log back in and pick up where you left off.
  • When you log back in, if you have any outstanding balance from the past, you will need to repay this. On top of that, you will also need to pay for the new month’s billing cycle. We charge you at the very beginning of each cycle so this is why you will need to pay for that charge right off the bat. I have also included this link for all our prices and plans so you are aware of the costs moving forward.

I have also attached this great document from our Help Center regarding reopening your store. Definitely give that a look over as well for further information. Let me know how this works out for you.

I’ve logged in the account is showing inactive. It won’t give me a option to go further into the account all the options it gives is general and security so I’m unable to get onto the billing side.

The account has been inactive for 6month to a year

Once you have logged in, you can follow the path as if you are reopening it, this will provide you with all the billing information you need to reopen (outstanding balance, if any plus it will opt you to choose a new plan) so you can get the amount of how much this might be. You don’t necessarily need to go through with it right away, it is just a way for you to see the cost of reopening.

As an alternative, you can also reach out to our Live Support Team and after verifying your account credentials, they can inform you the cost as well.
