How can I rebuild a client's website in the background?

Hello My client has a Shopify website.

They want me to rebuild their site in ‘the background’, using their exisiting theme etc. then they approve the new site and we make it go live.

Same URLs etc.

Do I do this by just duplicating their current site?

Your advice is appreciated as I normally just build new sites or make changes for a client.

That is the most simplistic way to do it.

And I assume that I just then publish once approved etc. I just wanted to double check etc.

Hi there,

Can you please explain on bit on “Rebuilding the site in the background”.

If you are going to copy the existing theme and publishing it again, it will be exactly the same, even the admin part. If you are planning to migrate to another domain, just getting a domain and contacting Shopify support will be a better plan.
