I’m unsure this is the correct way to ask for help, but I tried the help chat where they answer pretty slowly :D.
And I’m a bit worried.
I had a domain purchased last year, via shopify itself. Yesterday this domain expired due to me having a bank transfer and no realizing the subscription ended. Today I wanted to re-purchase the domain, but it is unavailable.
I hope this domain didn’t get stolen in the meantime?
Mainly I have product packaging with the website printed on it and this was a pretty big investment, it would be a disaster if I couldn’t recover my domain.
Any advice or tips on what I need to do?

While we can’t comment on the specifics of your account from here, I can talk in general terms about what might be happening with a domain in a situation like this.
If your Shopify-bought domain has recently expired and was not set to auto-renew, it might still be in a grace period whereby it can be manually renewed by us internally.
This would mean it showing as unavailable when you attempt to purchase it, as it is still being held for renewal in this grace period.
To confirm if this is the case for your domain and if so to request manual renewal, this is something we’d need to have you reach out via the Help Centre in order to provide account support.
