How do I remove this text overlay box on my header for the Dawn theme? I’ve tried all options discussed in the forums but to no avail. Also, I’m unable to change the colors of my announcement headers. Not sure what happened. Thanks in advance!

This entire Overlay box can be disabled in the ‘Dawn Theme’ customizer without messing with code.
Here’s how…

In your shopify dashboard, there’s a menu to your left. Find ‘Online Store’ and click it

Click on ‘themes’.

To your right you’ll see ‘Dawn Theme’. Click on the green button labelled ‘Customize’

In the left pane, look for the ‘Image Banner’ section.

Below ‘Image Banner’ you’ll see these options below… (See image attached)

Make sure all options are cancelled out.
Next to all those options, you have an ‘Eye icon’, make sure that icon appears cancelled out. Just click that eye icon…
That disables all the text and Call to Action button.

Thank you for your help. I still want to keep the other elements like the text and call to action button but only want that black box in the back of it to be gone. How can I do this? Also, for my announcement box, I can no longer change the color of it. Would like to be helped with that as well.
