How can I remove the 'default theme' from my collection page on Dawn?

I am using Dawn and on my collection page , for the “theme template”, it has “default theme”; how do I get rid of this?

I believe that it is not allowing me to add a featured collection or any collection for that matter.

You request sound like you wanted to get rid of the free theme (Dawn theme), because the free theme is the default template that comes with your website, but the most recommended theme is premium because it has some features that the free theme doesn’t have.

Thank you for your assistance. I want to keep the theme. I am trying to add products to my collection, but I am not able to, because in the theme template section, it has a default collection there that I can not get rid of. How do I get rid of the default collection to put products in any of my collections? I was trying out the theme “Modular” as well, but again it had the default for the products.

Thanks for your patience.

The screenshot makes me clear better.

What you are missing wrong is that the product side is different from the collection side, you have to first import the product manually to the product section, under the product settings choose the collection that you what the product to be.

For example, Long female gold jewelry (product) then the collection for this product should be (Female Jewelry)

Follow the manual on how to create a manual collection and importing of products.

To create a manual collection

  1. From the Admin go to Products > Collections.

  2. Tap the + button.

  3. Enter a title and description for the collection.

  4. Optional: Tap the image icon to upload an image for the collection.

  5. Disable Automatically select products.

  6. Optional: Tap Sales channels to customize which sales channels the collection will be visible to.

    By default, the new collection will be available to all of your sales channels. Deselect any channels that you want to hide the collection from. Learn more about

  7. Optional: Tap Sorting to select the order in which the collection’s products will display your online store.

  8. In the Products section, tap the + button to add the products that you want to include in the collection.

  9. Tap the check mark to save the collection.

  10. Add a link to your collection in your online store navigation so that customers can find and view the collection.

  11. Them click> save

How to add the product to a manual collection.

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Products > Collections.

  2. Click the name of the collection you want to add products to.

In the Products section, search for products or click Browse, and then add the products that you want to have in the collection.

Then click save

If the suggestion is welcomed don’t forget to hit the LIKE button and mark it as a SOLUTION.
