So our business name for our brick and mortar store is Shorter Merchantile, which is also what I want our customers to type in while looking for us online to shop. Instead when creating my Shopify account we have 3 (three) variations of shortermerchantile03 as our name. I’m assuming it’s like that because that’s the first part of our email address. I want to change the name.

I think you are talking about the myshopify.com link? That is only for the Shopify admin and theme. You do have to purchase a domain.

  1. In your admin store, click Settings on left hand bottom corner
    2, Go to Domains,
  2. Click Buy New domain

NOTE: I would advice to buy your domain right now. You don’t actually share the domain you want since people can buy and sell it to you in a higher price.
