How can I replace the home page banner with a clickable image?

Hi everyone

I am currently looking at Dawn or Impulse for my upgrade to 2.0 ( I only have Impulse on trial atm so no code access)

What I would like to do is replace the slideshow image or banner image with a simple image which is clickable through to my collection home page (or make the existing option clickable).

Can anyone tell me how I would do this please - I’ve looked at lots of questions and videos but none of them seem to be exactly what I’m after.

Hi!

If it doesn’t currently have the option to add a hyperlink to the image, this would require some coding to do (not much at all) so you would need the full version for me to be able to make that change for you.

If you head into your themes ‘Customise’ area, click the block for the slideshow image and on the right it might have an input for a URL, if so, enter your collection there, if not, you will need some code adding to the theme :slightly_smiling_face:

Hi, no there’s no way to add a url to the block. I’ve bought impulse now, so just looking for a way to make that hero image on the home page a clickable link :slightly_smiling_face:

Thank you - it’s not a product image though, it’s the hero image on the home page.

I’m guessing that slideshow.liquid needs a tweak?

Yes, i believe you’ll need to search your files for one relating to ‘header-banner’ or ‘hero-image’, feel free to post your store URL and I’ll try and find out which it will be located under :slightly_smiling_face:
