I read a couple posts on here but they are from 2-3 years ago so I’m wondering if there was ever a solution to this. When my customers check out, it automatically goes to the last address they added to check out with. We offer drop shipping that many of our customers use and this is causing a huge issue when creating orders for various issues (missing items, defects etc) as it automatically adds that address and not our customers address. How do we change this without adding and paying for another app???
Topic summary
Main issue: Checkout automatically defaults to the most recently added shipping address, often a drop‑ship destination, rather than the customer’s own address.
Impact: Leads to misdirected or incorrect shipments when creating follow-up orders for problems (e.g., missing items, defects), because the system reuses the last address.
Context: Previous discussions from 2–3 years ago exist, but the poster is seeking a current, native solution.
Request: A way to change the default shipping address behavior—ideally to the customer’s primary/saved address—without installing or paying for an additional app.
Key term: Drop shipping = shipping directly to a third-party address (e.g., supplier or recipient) instead of the customer’s personal address.
Status: No resolution provided in this thread; open question on whether a built-in setting or workflow adjustment can enforce the desired default address.
