I would be happy to hear suggestion from support team as soon as possible too!.

Thank you,

Hi, @masbts .

Thanks for all of the detailed context you’ve included.

I understand that you have an LTD business based in the UK and have used your Wise business account to accept payment on Shopify. As per Shopify Payments Requirements, the bank account requirements for Shopify Payments in the UK states the bank account must be with a physical bank in the United Kingdom, in GBP currency, and eligible for FPS transfers.

I recommend following up on the support ticket you’ve created with our Business Operations team for further clarification. Please be sure to check your inbox, spam and junk folder for any correspondence with our team.

If you’re looking for an alternative payment gateway for the UK, we have a complete list here. I’d also love to learn more about what kind of business you have online and what types of products you sell?

Hi there,

This issue comes up quite a bit — having a UK LTD company is a good start, but Shopify Payments also checks where the business is operated from, and in many cases, if you’re not a UK resident or your bank account doesn’t fully meet their criteria, they’ll decline it.

You did the right thing by reaching out to their Risk Operations team — sometimes they can reinstate access if everything checks out. But if Shopify Payments isn’t an option, and Stripe is also off the table (which can happen for certain industries or account setup reasons), the good news is there are still solid alternatives.

One worth looking into is WallidPay (https://apps.shopify.com/wallidpay) It’s a UK-based payment solution that works directly with bank transfers — no cards involved — and it’s especially useful for UK LTD companies, even if the owner isn’t living in the UK.

It supports:

  • Real-time payments

  • Lower fees

  • Fewer restrictions compared to card-based gateways

  • Seamless Shopify integration

If Shopify Payments or Stripe don’t work for your setup, WallidPay could be a good fit to keep your store running smoothly.

Hope this helps!
