How can I safely disable the sales pop feature in the dawn theme?

I have a sales pop feature that is annoying visitors that I would like to disable. I use the dawn theme. I found avada sales pop in the code. Can someone tell me if I can safely delete these two bits of code (below) without messing up my store?

Yes it is safe to remove that code and if it still doesn’t gets removed then feel free to share your Store URL and Password if enabled then I can guide you how to remove it.

Hi Moeed,

It didn’t work. The sales pop still appears and now there’s an error
message on the top of my screen, see attached.

I put the code back in so the error message went away. But the sales pop is
still there.
my store is alknorrbooks.store.

Follow these Steps:

  1. Go to Online Store

  2. Edit Code

  3. Find theme.liquid file

  4. Add the following code in the bottom of the file above tag
