Finally figured it out! I have attached the Socket Mobile programming guide in ZIP, on page 41 there is a barcode that you must scan called “Decode UPC/EAN with Supplementals” (make sure your scanner isn’t connected to the iPad, just toggle bluetooth then scan)
I have tested this with the S700 and works with Comics, trades and hardcovers.
