How can I secure my account after a Facebook hack?

Hi, so my Facebook account was hacked and the page my shopify account was linked to was taken over by the hacker. I’m in the process of trying to get it back. It says that Shopify has been disconnected from Facebook but the products are still showing up under the page that has been hacked. I paused my Shopify account until I can get everything figured out. Is there a way that the hackers got into my Shopify store as well? Is there a way that Shopify can look through my account and verify? I would love to talk with someone over the phone or email and try to get this all sorted out. Thank you.

If you think your Shopify account has been compromised then please contact the Shopify Support team without delay. The team can support you.

Now someone gaining access to your Facebook account doesn’t give them free access to other things like Google, Shopify, Instagram, etc. I’d have some concerns if you’re using the same password between all services especially if the password had been uncovered in that initial Facebook break in.

Best ensure that your passwords are strong, and unique (so don’t use the same one everywhere!)

Also be sure to enable 2 factor authentication (2FA) on Shopify, and on any other service you might use. Most services offer 2FA.

Hi Jason…My daughter set up a store on the 14 day trial and worked really hard in getting her store set up. But the day before yesterday, she was unable to log into her admin and the website has completely disappeared. It just says “something went wrong. This store is not available” She’s been waiting for Shopify to resolved it since yesterday but they have not contacted her. When something like this happens, can the site be restored? We think it may have been hacked.
