How can I send estimates and invoices with the Shopify POS system?

I am a flooring store and am currently using the square pos system. Square is not really customizable and I like that the Shopify pos system is. One thing that square has that I’ve had trouble finding in Shopify is a way to send estimates and invoices to customers for installation jobs.

does anyone in flooring or any type of home service integrated a system to do estimates and invoices with the Shopify pos?

I am happy to hear you’re interested in using the Shopify POS system. There are a few ways you can send customers invoices through Shopify. You can create a draft order in your Shopify admin and send it as an invoice to your customer; this is not through the POS system but your Shopify admin. This will send your customer a bill to their email with a direct link to pay. Another option that would allow you to send invoices directly through the POS system would be a third-party app called Custom & Draft Order for POS. This app will enable you to add draft orders to the POS cart, add custom services or products and manage draft orders.

To send estimates, you will need to install a third-party app in your store. I recommend:

  • Fulfillment Estimates is an app that allows you to easily display estimates, update in real-time, and are customizable to fit your business needs.
  • G: Request a Quote + Hide Price is an app that allows you to convert a quote to an order, request a quote button on your storefront, and increase your conversion rate.

These apps allow you to send estimates to your customers through the Shopify admin, not through the POS system. I would encourage you to read through the details of each app to make sure you choose the one with the features that best fit your business needs.
