I have made a ton of discounts but can’t figure this one out. I want to create a discount code for a percentage off of 1 item in a specific collection. That is, you can use it for any item in the collection, but you only get the discount on 1 item in the order regardless of how many items from the collection you purchase. I want it to be a one use per customer, which I already set up, and not combined with any other discount, which I have also already set. I tried it and it was still giving me the percentage discount on every item in that collection that I ordered, not just once. Anyone know how to do this? Is it even possible when using the Minimal theme? Thanks!

Unfortunately, the discount you’re looking to achieve is not able to be created natively in Shopify. However, it can be done with an app! The most robust discount app is Discount Ninja, however, there are tons of other options.
When researching apps, it’s important to compare prices, and merchant reviews, to determine if the app is right for you. If an app is paid, always try to find one that offers a free trial so you can test it before committing.
If you’d prefer not to use an app, I’d recommend adjusting your discount strategy slightly. Additionally, make sure you are marketing your discount to potential customers as this is not only a great way to re-target previous purchasers, but to secure brand new shoppers!
