Hi,
I’m doing a site that needs a custom weight, but they need it in grams per square meter instead of a simple weight (e.g. grams).
How can I do this on Shopify?

Hey, @jeremygwoods !
This is Moira from the Social Care team at Shopify. Thanks for posting, and a very warm welcome to the Community!
Apps are generally the go-to solution for a feature like this and would be more cost-effective rather than hiring a coding expert. I took a look in our App Store, and I was able to find a few apps that provide the functionality you are after. Quantity and grams per square meter appear to be one of the unit options available. Check them out below:
IzyUnit: Price Per Unit | Shopify App Store - Unit Price is displayed on product and collection pages for a better experience for your customers.
Price Per Unit | Shopify App Store - Easily display the unit prices of your products right under the total price, on both product pages and collection pages.
Custom Price Calculator | Shopify App Store - Display the customized calculator directly on any product page to increase checkout conversion. Style to fit your theme. No coding is required.
If you have questions about the app and how it works, your best bet will be to reach out to the app developers directly. You can see their contact information on the app’s page under Get Support.
Alternatively, you can also look into getting custom HTML implemented into your theme. There are third-party experts you can reach out to that could also build an app to fit your specific needs! To check out a list of expert developers, check out the Shopify Experts website below:
