I have the dawn theme for and shine on as a third party app. I cannot figure out how to make the shine on cart page my default. When I go to a product page , click theme settings I do not have cart as an option. When I go under coding their is not a cart liquid option for Dawn theme. Only main cart I believe. Any suggestions?
Hi there, @trueblessing12 . Thanks for coming to the Shopify Community with your question about this application and your cart page.
I feel like we need a bit more context to determine what next steps would be best for you here. Can you please provide us with the following requested information:
- Can you tell us where you downloaded this application from?
- Can you give us the specific name of the application?
- Can you let us know what the application is meant to be used for?
Please, get back to us when you can with the requested information, so we can follow up!
I have a Shopify store with the dawn theme. I use shineon which is a third-party app for some of my products. Which I downloaded through the app section on the Shopify page. Under theme settings I do not have a cart page option. When a product is selected and added to cart or then takes me directly to the checkout page . I want to make the shineon cart page my default cart page. The image below is the Shopify dawn them cart page I need to change it to shineon cart page.
Hey again, @trueblessing12 . Thanks for following up with me, and providing me the info that you have.
So it looks like ‘ShineOn’ is a ‘Print on Demand’ application. This means that ShineOn allows you to host products from their service on your store for sale to customers. For the Print on Demand services I’m familiar with, all product purchases are handled by your Shopify Cart Page and Checkout page. Only you, as the merchant, will need to be interacting with ShineOn’s Cart page, as you have to purchase the product from ShineOn to have it shipped and delivered to your customers. Does what I’ve described here sound familiar to you?
Do you mind me asking why you’re looking to have ShineOn’s cart page replace the Shopify Cart page?
In my experience, your customers don’t need to interact with a Print on Demand service at all to get products from that service purchased off of your store. I decided to look at ShineOn’s demo store for their application, and the cart page for the demo store is a theme cart page, which is to be expected and similar to what you have in your own store.
It sounds like there may be some confusion here with how you’re meant to be using ShineOn in your store. As ShineOn is a third-party application, their developers will be able to clearly outline how to use their app, and assist you with making sure you have things set up as needed for it to operate properly. I found a link to their website here that will allow you to get resources for support with any questions you have about ShineOn.
@Imogen_1 no there isn’t any confusion with how shineon is meant to be used with Shopify store. Shineon app provides settings (shineon, shineon fast, shine on e- and g upsell) that you can select that automatically format the product pages and cart page which can be used universally across all products in your Shopify store. Shineon cart page can be set as your default cart page for all products to create a uniform customer experience. Thank you for your responses.
Thanks for following up again, @trueblessing12 .
I spent some time checking out ShineOn’s help documentation to see if I could find any info on the features you’ve mentioned, and the Cart Page that they’re meant to be providing you. Looks like ‘ShineOn Fast’ is the optional feature of adding a custom product page for your ShineOn products to your store. I completed a setup guide for ShineOn as well, and unfortunately I saw no mention of a custom cart page that’s meant to be provided by ShineOn for your store.
As I’m unable to find any information here on this cart page, connecting with ShineOn’s Customer Service Team directly, and speaking to them about this Cart Page integration, should be your next step. If the cart page is something that they’re offering as part of their application, they will be able to help you enable that feature in your store.
