How can I set up a complex discount structure on my new website?

Hi All,

I am wanting to create a new website for a long established family business.

Each product belongs to a pricing group (not related to the category/collections), and each customer gets a discount on each discount group.

IE

Customer A gets

50% off Discount Group 1

40% off Discount Group 2

65% off Discount Group 3

Customer B gets

10% off Discount Group 1

45% off Discount Group 2

60% off Discount Group 3

Customer C gets

0% off Discount Group 1

10% off Discount Group 2

15% off Discount Group 3

can this be achieved in Shopify or with plugins?

TIA

Brendan

Hello @Brendan2406 ,

You should provide a more detailed description of how you implement relations of products to the mentioned groups. Is it based on meta fields? Another question - how do you differentiate Customers A, B and C? Definitely, you would end up with an app in the best case. The worst one - is the necessity to build a custom app. Please, let me know if you need any assistance.

Best regards,
Anastasia

Hi Brendan2406,

If you’re looking a plugin which supports complex discount structures, your best option is our app, Regios Automatic Discounts (4.8 stars, Built for Shopify).

I would strongly recommend creating collections for Discount Groups 1, 2, and 3, but if you’d prefer not to, then you can use the “Specific products” product eligibility option in our app to select the discount groups manually.

Here’s a screenshot of how you could achieve pricing for your family business using our advanced logic builder:

To make the example easier to understand, I have:

  • Created collections for Discount Groups 1, 2, and 3 in my test store.
  • Only implemented pricing for Customer A, and for 1 group on Customer B

If you have any questions about this, just reply, and I’ll be happy to help.

Best,

Tobe

Hey, @Brendan2406 .

Thank you for reaching out and posting this question!

There isn’t a way to do group pricing natively. However, as suggested by @tobebuilds , you can consider using a third-party app - such as Bold Custom Pricing: Wholesale.
