How Can I set up collapsible row descriptions for the same items in Collections?

How Can I set up collapsible row descriptions for the same items in Collections?

For example I need a description that can be the same for 300 Tumblers but then a different description for 200 Apparel items… (so I am thinking it is easier to make this collection specific)

Is this possible without going into each product?

I am searching the threads but I do not know if I am asking the correct question or searching the correct terminologies

Have you tried creating a new product template, then assign the said template to your product?

To create a product template:

  1. From your Shopify admin, go to Online Store > Themes.

  2. Find the theme that you want to edit, and then click Customize.

  3. Open the drop-down menu at the top of the page.

  4. Use the dropdown menu to select Products then click Create template.

  5. Give your template a unique name.

  6. In the dropdown menu, select Default product.

  7. Click Create template.

  8. You can then do a customization on that template, including the dropdown.

Note: You have to publish the theme, so you can see the template you created in the Product admin page.

T****o assign the template to the product

  1. From your Shopify admin, click Products.

  2. Choose the product you want to assign the template

  3. On your right hand side, find the Online Store Theme Template

  4. In the dropdown, assign the template you created

Thank you so much - I had edited a Shopify site about a year ago with coding etc… and I could not remember how I did it - I had not realized there was new metafield options that made it easier to edit. The above suggestion is EXACTLY what I needed. I appreciate you
