How can I set up sales and discounts without overwriting prices in my new store?

I have a new store that I’ve put together and just have gone live. I want to manage Sales and Discount with an App through Shopify, but am having trouble.

I use Inventory source to sync my inventory and the pricing for my store and it syncs every hour or so.

I’ve tried a couple of Sales and Discount Apps in Shopify, but once the sale is displayed, it is over written by the updating from inventory Source within an hour and the sale no longer displays. I think the answer either lies with Inventory Source where I turn off the pricing updates for that product while the sale is on (I have looked for a setting, but haven’t found it) or is there a good App out there that will prevent the price being overwritten, but maintain the inventory level, while the product is on Sale?

I found your thread about Inventory Source overwriting promotional prices every hour while you still needed the inventory sync to continue.

Did you eventually find a setup that separates ownership of inventory and pricing?

I’m researching this workflow, not selling a service. How do you currently prevent another app or feed from overwriting a live promotion, and how do you detect it when it happens?
