We have “Shopify”, one step below “Advanced”. We also have our own UPS account. We added the UPS account to our “Shopify” account. We have NOT engaged Shopify Shipping. We are having a problem at checkout that the website is NOT calculating the correct shipping. After some research it appears that we may need to move up to the “Advanced” in order to calculate exact shipping rates and make sure that we are NOT losing money on shipping which we are now. Shopify is charging 1 rate and our invoice back from UPS states a higher rate. The options at this level are limited. What do you all suggest? Will moving up solve our issue? We should be able to calculate exactly what we want correct?

You do not need to go all the way upto Advanced plan. You have 2 options here.

You can get CCS enabled for $20 per month. You can contact Shopify support for this option.

You can switch to annual billing for your “Shopify” level plan and get CCS for free.
CCS is what is required to show accurate shipping rate from third party entities like UPS.
