I am trying to put a variant on one of my products, but nothing is working.
I have a very simple theme, one from the free, but I don’t think that it is important, it should work is it?

I understand that you’re trying to add a variant to one of your products and nothing seems to be working. While the issue isn’t related to the theme you’re using, it is related to the way the system creates variants.
In short, if the product was already created, then it’s harder for the system to create the variants as it needs to multiply the variant options (eg. Size x Colors). Though you are able to add an option to an existing product, this doesn’t always work from my experience and it could become a problem when you need to add more variants. Instead, to resolve this issue, I’d recommend adding variants while creating the product - this way, you can skip some of the considerations for adding variants and the system can create your variants without any issues.
