How can I successfully deactivate my online store account?

Appreciate if I can get some answers from the community. I am trying to deactivate my Shop account. I clicked the deactivate button and it moved to the next page which required me to select the drop down list as to why I am stopping my account. After I have selected it moved to the next page which required password. Honestly I am stumped. What password??!!

I checked some videos and some said it is in under the Online Store - Preferences. I went to that page and there is a password. I have not enabled the password. Anyway I used that password and the error message said it is the wrong password. What do i do now? Please help

Here is our guide to deactivating your Shopify store. When you signed up for a Shopify account you would have needed to create a password. If can’t remember your password, then you can recover your Shopify login details.

The password under Online Store>Preferences is for the password page that you can enable/disable depending on whether or not you want your store to be visible to visitors. It is an entirely separate thing, unrelated to your account password.
