How can I successfully implement the Honeypot technique?

Hello,

We received a large amount of spam through the contact form. I searched this forum for help and realized that the honeypot technique is the only one I hadn’t tried yet.

So, I added another email field on page.contact.liquid and hidden it successfully. However, I wasn’t able to edit the conditions for a successful form submission (meaning - how to condition that once the hidden field is filled - the contact form will not be submitted).

Any help on the matter will be highly appreciated.

You could use Shop Protector app for this.

There are 2 products, broken up by plan type, for SP (Shop Protector). SP Basic focuses on form spam and fake account creation.

SP+ has this functionality too but adds the ability to configure rules to protect against bot-based checkouts, customize risk analysis settings, how to handle auto-cancellation, bulk cancellations, and much more coming soon!
