We are trying to sync inventory across multiple platforms - Shopify, Amazon, Etsy.
I want to upload a daily stock sheet into Shopify with correct stock figures on.
Shopify splits each product into multiple rows because of the image URLs. If I delete the image URLs from the file, it deletes the images from my site.
How do I get around this? I just want as simple a spreadsheet as possible - ideally with SKU and inventory quantity.
I use the Simple Inventory app that is available in the Shopify store. It allows you to upload a csv file with a few different column selections, including inventory count. The first column will be your product identifier (SKU or barcode), and the second column is Inventory. It is very simple to use, and works well. We have been using it for 2-3 years. It makes things so much easier. You can upload as many spreadsheets as you want as often as you need. It also allows you to add other columns, including price, cost, tags, etc.
I don’t have barcodes for all products, but we have a unique SKU for every product. For this reason, our columns are SKU and Inventory. I hope this helps.

Our app is designed specifically just for updating the available inventory quantity in Shopify, so your CSV or Excel file with the SKU and inventory quantity will work as is. You just need to specify the column names in the app for the field mapping.
It will only update quantity, so you don’t have to worry about other product/variant attributes getting overwritten.
You can manually upload the file or schedule it to run automatically and pull the file from an FTP/SFTP server or a website URL.
