How can I temporarily disable order confirmation emails?

Hi.

I recently downloaded an email marketing app for order confirmation emails and I’m looking to disable Shopify’s order confirmation email temporarily.

However I cannot seem to find a disable button. I have also tried deleting the code in Notifications but the code remains there.

What do I do?

Hello Spg2,

There are only two emails that can be disabled from the sending. But the order confirmation cannot be disabled.

It is ridiculous that you can’t. Shopify has hundreds of apps and links to email marketing apps in their app store yet you can’t disable the ones in shopify once you install one that does a better job than the inbuilt ones. The same issue is complained about by hundreds of users for over 5 years and nothing done. Just add a checkbox so we can stop sending them, it’s not hard!

They’ll just wait till there is a list of angry customers building up then shut down the thread and do nothing about it, standard Shopify practise. Get people to like the shutdown notification (claiming it will help the decision) as a way to boost the admins rankings in the meantime. Such a joke.

What kind of platform can you not choose what to send to your own customers in terms of notifications, or have the dimensions of the damn package you are trying to send so you can price the shipping costs? Shopify, that’s who and no one else.
