I don’t know where else to ask this question. So I’m creating a bookstore where I will allow authors to self-publish through the store. Sort of like a KDP for a very specific demographic. I want to give them a percentage of the profit on their books left over after the costs of the book POD. I know I can input the fulfillment costs of individual products into product listings for finance tracking. However, it would be helpful if I could track the amount of profit for each author. Is there a way to do this? I couldn’t find a way to track product revenue/profits with tags. This store isn’t live yet, so there won’t be any data currently to play around with. I’d rather not track all of this on a spreadsheet.

To track the amount of profit for each author, you can use an app like Multi Vendor Payouts to set up payouts for your vendors. This feature allows you to automatically distribute a percentage of the revenue from each sale to the respective author.
By using split payouts, you can easily track and distribute the profit to each author without the need for manual spreadsheet tracking. This will save you time and effort in managing the financial aspect of your bookstore.
As a growth tip, I recommend considering offering personalized marketing recommendations to authors to help them promote their books and increase sales. This could include strategies like social media advertising, email marketing, or collaborating with influencers in their niche.
