I have a few places around town, and a magazine ad too, that point people to my website. Each place has its own QR code that links to my website / name-of-place.
I would like Shopify to tell me how many hits I got from each code. Then I’d know which places/magazines were getting the most attention. For example, a gallery named Marquee.
So I create a Shopify page named “marquee”, add html to redirect that page to my home page. (I tried a couple of different ways to do that.)
That works.
But what does not work is Shopify Analytics. There is a “Top Landing Pages by sessions” report, but that does not show any hits for the marquee page, although I have visited it several times in the past hour.
How can I have Shopify tell me which QR codes around town are getting the most hits?

The best way to track QR Codes sessions and scans within Shopify is to use UTM parameters in your QR Codes links (if you don’t know what UTMs are I suggest you check this page: https://blog.hootsuite.com/how-to-use-utm-parameters/). Setting up UTM parameters on your QRs links allows you to track sessions and conversions from QR Codes directly on Shopify Analytics reports and on Google Analytics.
My personal suggestion is to try our app Releasit QR Code Generator that allows you to generate QR Codes that automatically have UTM parameters and tracking incorporated.
Specifically the app allows you to check quickly how many times every QR Code was scanned from the Dashboard:
Then within Shopify you will be able to find these reports for each QR Code that tell you how many sessions / add to carts / orders happened from that QR Code:
And finally if you use Google Analytics (if you don’t I highly suggest you start using it) you will also have detailed reports about the QR Codes (including location data).

Marco, I did install Releasit, like it a lot.
But it stopped working - I just get a white screen, both on iphone and desktop.
Shopify support says they see the same white-screen problem. I sent some message through Shopify support channel, but got no response yet.
What’s going on please?
