i have a brand new website that i just spent a long time creating in squarespace.
i had issues with their credit card processing through stripe( a topic on its own) but for now i would like to know if there is a way of bringing my whole website design straight into shopify so that i dont have to spend all the time recreating something i just finished doing??

Migrating a website from a platform to another is usually not a quick task as all platforms differs in terms of structure and functionalities.
I’m not aware of a way to simply transfer a website. If Shopify is the right choice, I’d suggest to choose a theme that is achieving what you are looking for and recreate the website. Alternatively, you can hire a developer that can recreate the website based on a given design.
