I’m clearly not an expert, but I just wanted to tell you that I’ve tried the export/import, and after a couple of tests, I finally manage to see the changes !! And it really works fine.
At first it was ignored for me too, but let me explain you what I did to make it work :
First you go to Setting → Languages → and then you click on “Export” on the top.
On the Export windows, select the language you want to translate to, and keep everything else by default. Then, click on “EXPORT”.
Once exported, you will receive a mail with a csv file.
Very Important : Open the file with Google Sheets (I have tried with Excel, and it never worked…).
When you open the file, expand the column with the text foe a better visibility.
At this moment, you will see the text in the original language.
→ Do not remove this text ! Instead, just add your translate text on the next column (H column normally, it says “translated content”).
You will see that the Cookies Banner texts are all the lines starting with “COOKIE_BANNER” (Around 25 lines in total normally).
When finish, click on FILE → Download → And download the file as csv with a new name.
Then go back to Shopify, click on IMPORT, select the new file, Select “Replace existing translations for this language” !!! (Very important).
And that’s it ! It should work almost immediately.
I 've been searching for a solution for 2 days now… So I’m happy to share my findings, and I hope that this will help you or anyone else
