How can I update files in a product review app without using the Asset API?

I have a product review app and I’m currently using the asset API to update certain files. I would like to know if there are any alternative methods available to accomplish this task.

Thank you for your response. Currently, I am using the Asset API to update my Shopify theme files, but I am looking for an alternative solution to avoid using the API. Do you know of any other ways I can update my Shopify theme files?
