How can I update inventory to out of stock using CSV import?

Hello

Currently by default all my products in my store do not have inventory tracking on. What I need to do is put a large amount of items out of stock because there are not available.

Can this be done by doing a product import and updating those products in the Varient_inventory field to 0? will this make the product out of stock?

Yes, you can do it by importing the products with their Variant Inventory Qty = 0.

I suggest you export your products to a CSV and then edit the Variant Inventory Qty to 0. Next, import that edited file and select the overwrite option.
