How can I upload high quality product images using code?

I want to use high quality product images, but Shopify has limits and even then it compresses the quality. My site is this: https://snzq.uk/collections/all

The images are blurry and are not high quality when zoomed in. Other normal uploading methods that ensures quicker loading times (72 PPI and under 80kb file sizes) are not an options because the image quality looks awful.

Would love some help figuring out the best way to do this - someone recommended uploading through coding, but I can’t find a tutorial on that.

Hello @Technical_SNZQ ,

I am Gina from flareAI app helping Shopify merchants get $6Million+ in sales from Google Search, on autopilot. I am here to support you.

If you want to ensure high-quality product images on your Shopify store without compromising on image compression you can optimize images before uploading. Optimize the images using image editing software or online tools. You can manually adjust the image size, resolution, and compression settings to maintain a balance between image quality and file size.

Start with high-resolution product images to maintain image quality even after compression. Higher resolution provides more flexibility when resizing or cropping images for different display areas on your website.

If you have coding knowledge or access to a developer, you can explore custom coding solutions to handle image uploading. By bypassing Shopify’s default image compression, you can directly upload high-quality images to your server or a third-party hosting platform. This approach requires creating a custom image upload process using the Shopify API or other programming methods. However, it’s important to note that custom coding solutions can be complex and may require ongoing maintenance and updates.

Remember to balance image quality and file size, as large image files can impact website loading times. Optimize your images while maintaining an acceptable level of quality to ensure a smooth browsing experience for your customers.
