I have bought a domain on shopify, but then it asked me to log in an email to verify the domain. But the email I have put into shopify is no longer valid, therefore I cannot receive the domain verification email , what can I doin this case?
Topic summary
Issue: A merchant bought a domain on Shopify but used an invalid email, so they can’t receive the domain verification email.
Key guidance:
- If you can log in to your Shopify account: change the account owner email to one you can access so the domain validation email can be delivered. A help article link was provided with steps.
- If you cannot log in or run into issues: contact Shopify’s Live Team to escalate to the Accounts Team for assistance. A support link was provided.
Notes:
- “Domain verification email” confirms ownership/control of the purchased domain.
- “Account owner email” is the primary email tied to the Shopify account and must be valid to receive important communications.
Outcome/status: No confirmation of resolution. Next step is for the merchant to update their email or contact support; discussion remains open pending user action.
Hey there, @lianghu95 . Thanks for reaching out to the Community regarding your Domain!
If your account is currently using an email address that you don’t have access to, you’re going to want to change your account owner email to something that you can access. As long as you can login to your account, this should allow you to get the validation email for your domain delivered to you. It’s also important to have a valid email used for your account so you can receive all emails from Shopify that are related to your account. I have steps on how to change the email address in this help document here.
If you’re unable to login to your account to make this email change, or encounter any other issues when attempting to make the change, then you’ll want to reach out to our Live Team so our Accounts Team can lend you a hand. You can use this link to reach out.
