My shopify wont verify on Facebook so I cannot connect my Shop on Facebook and Instagram. Can I please heave help with the code here.
Topic summary
Issue: A Shopify store cannot verify its domain on Facebook, preventing Facebook/Instagram shop connection. The requester initially sought a code-based fix.
Key guidance provided:
- Domain verification must be completed via Facebook/Shopify steps; a code snippet alone will not verify the domain. A Shopify Help link with step-by-step instructions was shared.
- Diagnostic request for a screenshot or Loom video; screenshots were posted but their text/content wasn’t detailed in the thread.
- Possible policy blockage: Products may violate Instagram Commerce Policies; advised to review items in Commerce Manager for compliance.
- Additional requirement for Instagram: An Instagram Business Account is needed, and the Facebook Business Manager must own the connected Instagram account. The user was asked to confirm this setup.
Terms:
- Domain verification: Proving website ownership to Facebook to enable commerce features.
- Business Manager: Facebook tool to manage assets/accounts.
- Commerce Manager: Facebook tool to manage catalogs/shops.
- Instagram Business Account: Required account type for shopping eligibility.
Status and next steps:
- Unresolved/ongoing. User should: complete domain verification per the guide, ensure catalog policy compliance, confirm Business Manager ownership of the Instagram Business Account, and share clearer error details for troubleshooting.
If it’s domian verification on Facebook there are steps to get it done and a code won’t do the verification
@essenceno1 hi there. This is a relatively common issue.
There’s some helpful information here that might guide you through the steps:

If you can share a screenshot or a loom video it would help to diagnose you specific issue.
Hope that helps.
How do I do this?
It’s likely that your item goes against their broad-level policy you can Review the item(s) in your catalog or collection(s) in Commerce Manager to make sure it complies with Instagram Commerce Policies
And did you try verifying the domain?
Thanks for sharing the screenshot.
If you want to make your shop visible on Instagram, you’ll also need an Instagram business account. Your Business Manager must own the Instagram business account that it’s connected to.
Have you set up an Instagram Business Account seperate to your Facebook account?
