How can I view and respond to expert messages?

I’ve sent for some help and I clearly have some responses as per my email and the little blue dot at the top of the page, but when I click Messages it just gives me the message of “Message an Expert” and “Browse Experts.” I can’t actually see or respond to anybody. This is so frustrating.
