Many sellers based in Korea face limitations when running international e-commerce stores.
When customers browse the store, they can see prices in their local language and currency (USD, GBP, EUR, etc.). However, once they proceed to checkout, the currency automatically switches back to the store’s base currency.
From what I understand, enabling true multi-currency checkout often requires setting up an overseas company in order to use certain payment providers.
However, I would like to know if there is a way to solve this without establishing a foreign corporation.
My goals are:
- Allow customers to view prices in their local currency.
- Keep the same currency during the entire checkout process.
- Add multiple international card payment options (Visa, Mastercard, etc.).
- Use payment providers that Korean residents can access without opening a foreign company.
If anyone has experience running an international Shopify store from Korea and successfully solving this problem, I would really appreciate your advice or recommendations.
Thank you.
