How can we effectively reduce bot traffic and fake registrations?

We are witnessing a surge in traffic through the bots and also fake registrations, can you please advise how to eliminate this issue?

You can use Shopify Captcha settings. on customer signup, newsletter signup, chat widgets etc. from where customer can be registered,

This is a great question! Since your website is public, there are limited ways of restricting the type of traffic that can visit the store. You could potentially block certain IP addresses but this could also affect legitimate customers as well, so definitely not a recommended solution. Bot traffic is totally normal and generally doesn’t cause any harm to the website or it’s operation.

For registered customer accounts, these generally do require email verification in order to be active. Are you seeing full customer accounts, or are these customer profiles being created from abandoned carts or newsletter signups?
